Christmas Concerts

On December 11, 2011, “A Thrill of Hope” by Joel Raney, was offered to the public by the Cantata Choir, adult vocal choir directed by Robert Blazek with Linda Gilmore, accompanist, and chamber orchestra. This musical is a dynamic retelling of the Christmas story divided into four parts: Hope, Love, Peace and Joy. Each section is a musical medley packed with an array of familiar carols sure to appeal to singers and audiences alike. The major themes of Advent and Christmas are all addressed, culminating in an uplifting celebration of the joy of the season. Thoughtful narration and scripture readings appear between each movement.
12-11-11 ~ “A Thrill of Hope”
On December 12, 2010, “Winter’s Grace” by Joseph M. Martin, was offered to the public by the Cantata Choir, adult vocal choir directed by Robert Blazek with Linda Gilmore, accompanist, and chamber orchestra. It was into the shadows and winter of this world that Christ came to bring us the light and warmth of his salvation. The concert celebrated this great light and washed the Sanctuary with the messages of hope, peace, joy and love using a program of candles, scriptures, prayers, carols and music.
12-12-10 ~ "Winter's Grace"
On December 13, 2009, “Emmanuel-God with Us!” by Lloyd Larson, was offered to the public by the Cantata Choir, adult vocal choir directed by Robert Blazek with Linda Gilmore, accompanist, and chamber orchestra. This service of Lessons and Carols blended historic carols with newer compositions along with the Bible to tell the ageless story of Christmas.
12-13-09 ~ "Emmanuel-God with Us!"
