Get To Work

At First Congregational Church, we believe that our love of God should translate into service of our neighbors and that we are called to make a difference in the lives of those around us, both locally and around the world. Ultimately, service of others is how we participate in God’s transforming work in the world.

Our inspiration to help others may be drawn from many different places: gratitude for the gifts we have been given, disturbance at injustices we have witnessed, even the simple but powerful desire to be a part of something beyond ourselves. Whatever motivates you, there are many ways to serve others at FCC.

Mission of the Month

"Be the church". This is a phrase that drives us to do the work Jesus asks us to do. Our missions extend beyond the walls of our church building. Our gifts and talents are used to support our fellow church members, community organizations, and our neighbors.

We have much work to do which is why we select a mission every month to boost with financial support and focus. To find out more about our current mission of the month, please contact our Office Manager, Chris Awe, at cawe@fccdundee.com or (847) 426-2161.

Hilltop Community Suppers

Hilltop Community Suppers offers a free delicious, healthy meal to anyone in the community who is in need. Suppers are served on the second Tuesday of every month from 5-6:30 PM.

All meals are served drive-thru style and handed out first come first served. Although we are prepared to serve hundreds of meals, quantities are limited. All service is run by volunteers with food handler permits and gloves are worn by all servers.

Anyone who would like to attend we ask you to drive to the church, and enter via the Beacon Street entrance.

Hilltop Harvest

Our Hilltop Harvest Food Garden, through the efforts of many dedicated volunteers, donates thousands of pounds of fresh produce to the F.I.S.H. Food Pantry in Carpentersville.

There is always a lot to do, and many ways to help!  Throughout the year, many hands make light work with planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and delivery.

If you would like to be a part of that team, please contact our Office Manager, Chris Awe, at cawe@fccdundee.com or (847) 426-2161. We will then make sure you are included in any communication about the garden going forward.
